Evaluating the Navigation of a Site
One-on-one interviews are the best methodology for evaluating how easily a Web site is navigated. During these encounters, participants are asked to perform certain tasks on a site while the moderator observes. This methodology has the following advantages:
- Because the moderator deals with only one user at a time, he or she can carefully observe the performance of each task.
- This format is more natural for site exploration than is a focus group, since in real life, Web surfers are generally alone in front of the computer screen.
